The Mirage of Michael Bastian

For a long time I have been in awe of the collections and clothing that Michael Bastian creates. His vision of men’s fashion has proven that creativity is not just for the ladies. His impeccable eye for structure and creation keep me drooling season to season. You’ll be seeing a lot of our favorite pieces in upcoming “Fashion Fantasy” posts (get excited!).

Here are my top 5 looks from his Fall 2012 collection and what I like about them (in no particular order):

1) Charlie Brown inspired Sweater is not only a cartoon classic design, but who knew mustard yellow could look so good? And the hat? Perfect touch. (You’ll learn that we love us some hats!)

2) This collection had prints and designs all incorporating dogs. Scarves, sweaters, and pants were adorned with pooches. Throw in a real dog and I’m hooked!

3) First: The Double Breasted Sweater. Second: Those mustard yellow leather gloves!

4) This sweater stole the show for me (after the bulldog!), proving that men’s wear can be silly and fun.

5) This outfit combines a ruggedness with the leather jacket, and then sophistication in the thick pinstripe pants. Add the bow-tie, scarf, and loafers and you win.

I highly suggest you watch the entire runway video on the Michael Bastian website and prepare to have your brightly colored socks blown off!
